Veeam Backup & Replication V6.5 wins a best of TechEd 2013 Award

Veeam Software  innovative provider of backup, replication and virtualisation management solutions for VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V, has been named Best of TechEd 2013 in the Backup and Recovery category for Veeam Backup & Replication v6.5 .

The Best of TechEd awards, co-sponsored by Microsoft and Windows IT Pro, recognise Microsoft partners that offer innovative products and services for the industry. Winners were announced at the Microsoft TechEd North America 2013 conference in New Orleans, Louisiana.

“Our judging panel considered an impressive field of more than 250 submissions down to 33 finalists in 10 categories” said Jason Bovberg, senior editor at Windows IT Pro. “On the show floor, the team interviewed the finalists and evaluated the products to determine a final list of winners. As always, the three criteria for the judging process were strategic importance, competitive advantage, and value to customers. Show attendees also cast their votes to determine the winner of the prestigious Attendees’ Pick Award. Our winners—and finalists!—represent some of the most innovative solutions on the market, from the big, established players to the new kids on the block.”

The award judges said that “Veeam Backup and Replication provides essential backup and replication for an increasingly virtualised world. Instead of merely tolerating the virtual environment, Veeam leverages it to provide the most comprehensive protection for the virtual infrastructure.”

This is the eighth technology industry award won by Veeam in 2013. Highlights include:

  • InfoWorld 2013 Technology of the Year
  • VirtualizationAdmin.com Readers Choice Awards
  • Channel Awards 2013: Best Software Vendor
  • VirtualizationReview Readers’ Choice Awards

“Veeam first introduced support in our flagship product for Microsoft Hyper-V in November 2011,” said Ratmir Timashev, President and CEO of Veeam. “Since then, the market response has been tremendous, and this award is a testament not only of our commitment to delivering powerful, easy-to-use and affordable solutions built for virtualisation, but also to the Microsoft Hyper-V community. This achievement would have been impossible without their support. We look forward to exceeding their expectations again with the soon-to-be released Veeam Backup & Replication v7 (http://go.veeam.com/v7?ad=pr), which goes even further to solve the‘3C’ problems in legacy physical backup solutions of limited Capabilities, increased Complexity and high Cost.
