Nology signs exclusive SA distribution contract with ZyXEL

Nology has partnered with ZyXEL as exclusive distributor of its products in southern Africa. ZyXEL, founded in 1989, is one of the world’s leading suppliers of networking products. It is the first choice of many tier-one service providers, connecting more than 400,000 small- and medium-sized businesses, and upwards of 70 million end-users around the globe. As one of the early modem manufacturers, ZyXEL has gone through transformations in the fast-paced networking industry. Today, ZyXEL is one of the few companies in the world capable of offering complete networking solutions for Telcos, Small-Medium sized Businesses (SMBs) and digital home users for a wide range of deployment scenarios. ZyXEL was rated as one of the Top 5 Global ADSL CPE providers during 2012 and claimed the 3rd spot in the VDSL CPE provider list, released during 2013.

Willem Venter, Technical Director at Nology, says: “Nology is proud to be affiliated with ZyXEL and as one of the top five higher-end SME (small to medium enterprise) networking brands in Europe for DSL (ADSL and VDSL) modems, ZyXEL is geared for the western market. Nology is particularly excited about the extent of the high-quality European range, from SMB products through to the consumer market products.” They will be delivering ZyXEL’s business and consumer products, the latter of which can be divided into digital home and connectivity products. On the business side they offer a SMB networking section with high-end carrier grade switches, DSLAMs and more.

“We are now able to provide a complete product offering with intelligent features and competitive pricing from one supplier. They understand the SA market’s requirements and changes to suit the market can be implemented across all the products via one point of contact,” says Venter.

ZyXEL’s home infrastructure solutions can compete with the best providers of wireless repeaters, adapters, high-end media routers and EoP (Ethernet over Power) devices. Within their connectivity offering lays basic ADSL routers as well as VDSL (Very high bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line) devices for the higher-end market. Their comprehensive LTE range offers amongst others, various routers, media storage and streaming devices and a particularly charming desktop MiFi (mobile Wi-Fi) device.

“We wanted to partner with a local expert to get into the African market, as our well priced, quality products would find a niche in a market with a growing need for affordable connectivity. We found that partner in Nology with their solution targeted approach, technical expertise and healthy market share,” says Karsten Gewecke, Vice President at ZyXEL.
