Power to the workforce – the new Dell OptiPlex 9020

The new Dell OptiPlex 9020, available from distributor Drive Control Corporation (DCC), is Dell’s most powerful commercial desktop PC ever, delivering reliability, security, data protection, ease of management and deployment, and incredible power for the most demanding corporate applications.

“Mobility may be the latest trend, but the desktop still reigns supreme when it comes to workforce power and productivity. The Dell OptiPlex 9020 is the perfect PC for government, banking and financial services institutions, and general office use, offering simplified, centralised and automated remote management, advanced data protection, extended lifecycles and outstanding reliability,” says George Lodewick, Dell Commercial Product Specialist at DCC.

Featuring Generation 4 Haswell Processors, with support for up to 32 Gigabytes (GB) of Random Access Memory (RAM), a choice of hard drive, Solid State Drive (SSD) or hybrid drive, high-speed memory options and optional discrete graphics, the OptiPlex 9020 is ideal for a wide range of corporate applications. Intel’s vPro systems management iAMT9x simplifies management, automates processes and reduces cost, and Dell’s unique extension for one-to-many remote Basic Input / Output Systems (BIOS) management enables companies to update only once across the organisation, saving bandwidth, time and money.

“Along with these integrated features, Dell’s automation tools help to streamline deployment and configuration, and effectively monitor, inventory and update your systems with deep integration into Microsoft System Centre and Dell KACE, a company specialising in delivering appliance-based computer systems management solutions allowing organisations to manage IT assets. Dell also offers KACE appliances which provides a fully integrated systems management solution to help seamlessly manage endpoints, or alternatively Dell Services can help define and implement the right client management solution for your unique needs,” says Lodewick.

Dell Data Protection safeguards important data with advanced authentication and encryption, while Dell Protected Workspace software offers protection against malware and Trusted Platform Module (TPM) offers encrypted hard drive options. A physical lock slot, optional lockable port cover, desk mount and optional biometric authentication offer additional layers of security for sensitive applications.

Outstanding reliability and durability are ensured with a robust, thoroughly tested chassis and components designed for years of usage and deployments in tough environments. Four different chassis models are available to fit a variety of office environments: mini-tower, small form factor, ultra small form factor and the new 9020 All-in-One for optimised desk space utilisation. Reduced power consumption helps to protect the environment and reduce electricity bills for an enhanced Return On Investment (ROI).

“The OptiPlex 9020 also offers long lifecycles, with managed transitions to ensure long-term stability for confident future planning. The PC are also easy to service and maintain, thanks to colour-coded, tool-less accessible system components and grip points, making them ideal for large deployments,” Lodewick adds.

The Dell OptiPlex 9020 is available on special order from DCC at a recommended retail price starting at R12 000 including VAT. A range of accessories is also available to maximise productivity in any environment.
