Customised power computing – the new Dell Precision Workstations from DCC

Tailor your workstation computing to your individual needs with the new Dell Precision workstations from distributor Drive Control Corporation (DCC). Each of the workstations in the range are built according to custom specifications, delivering superb performance and legendary reliability with smart design, reduced environmental impact and maximum uptime, perfect for even the most demanding applications. The range includes the T1700, the T5610 and the T7610, all of which include Windows 8 Professional.

“The new Dell Precision range consists of three workstations delivering the ideal performance for Computer Aided Design (CAD), 2D and 3D modelling, graphic design as well as any other graphics-intensive applications. Intel Xeon processors deliver maximum processing power, while top of the line graphics cards and loads of memory ensures smooth performance. All of the workstations are also compatible with leading Independent Software Vendor (ISV) certified applications for maximum uptime and productivity,” says George Lodewick, Dell Commercial Product Specialist at DCC.

The T1700 offers workstation performance at a comparable price to regular desktops, with powerful graphics options and Dell Precision Performance Optimiser to help software run at peak performance. Available in both mini tower and Small Form Factor (SFF) design, this is the smallest workstation in its class, bringing powerful performance to even the most compact spaces. Conveniently placed handholds help you deploy and position the workstation with ease, while front-mounted USB 3.0 ports ensure accessibility. With up to 32 Gigabytes (GB) of Random Access Memory (RAM) and support for up to three monitors, the T1700 is a powerful addition to any design arsenal.

The T5610 offers powerful and reliable dual socket workstation performance in a compact mini tower chassis, ideal for creating architectural drawings, performing complex engineering design work or tackling any performance-intensive application. Dual sockets allow for up to two processors, delivering extreme performance, and up to 128GB of RAM ensure these workstations can easily handle large data sets. Intel Advanced Vector Extensions and Turbo Boost Technology offer outstanding performance for complex applications, with space for up to two 3.5-inch hard drives or four 2.5-inch drives for ultimate storage.

The T7610 is Dell’s most powerful tower workstation, designed for the most demanding environments including aircraft and automobile design, handling massive data sets, video editing and other performance-intensive applications. Up to two processors and 256GB of RAM offer superior processing power. Space for up to four 3.5-inch drives or eight 2.5-inch drives deliver maximum capacity and an integrated Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) / Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) controller with RAID options facilitates data mirroring and data striping to ensure important information is always safeguarded. Dell’s patented Reliable Memory Technology maximises uptime by eliminating virtually all memory errors for stable and reliable performance. A split chassis separates the power supply and hard drives from the motherboard and graphics, enabling more efficient airflow and simplified servicing.

“The T5610 and T7610 both feature NVIDIA Maximus technology with Quadro and Tesla graphics processing units (GPUs) that simultaneously enable simulation and design on a single system. A straightforward, clutter-free interior provides easy access to components, while an externally accessible tool-less power supply offers superior serviceability. All workstations are also available in Energy Star configurations for eco-conscious users,” Lodewick concludes.
