DCC offers Symantec training to all resellers

Distributor Drive Control Corporation (DCC) will be delivering additional value for Symantec resellers from January 2014 with a range of Symantec training sessions that will assist resellers in achieving Symantec certifications. Training will be offered on the core range of Symantec products offered by DCC, with a view to extending this training to other Symantec products in the future. Training will be open to any reseller, regardless of the distributor they are affiliated with.

“DCC will be offering shortened workshops on the Symantec products that will enable attendees to then register and complete the exams required for certification. Our aim is to make this training more accessible to a wider market. Resellers will as a result be able to offer improved support to customers, and customers will have the assurance that their solutions are supported by skilled and experienced resellers,” says Carina Prinsloo, Symantec Technical Department at DCC.

Training will be facilitated by Pieter van der Westhuizen, a well-known accredited Symantec trainer with more than 14 years of experience on Symantec products and training experience across Africa, the Middle East and Europe. With a career beginning in support and implementation in 1999, van der Westhuizen has seen the various Symantec products evolve into the solutions they have become today. This ground level experience on the products offers a deeper perspective into the needs of the customers, enabling him to deliver tailored training to meet individual needs. He began delivering training on Backup Exec in 2003 and has since expanded his skills set to include products across the Symantec Product Portfolio.

“DCC has been looking into offering training on Symantec products as part of our commitment to being a value-added distributor for our resellers. When the opportunity to work with Pieter van der Westhuizen arose, we decided the time was right to put this into practice,” says Fred Mitchell, Symantec Business Unit Manager at DCC.

DCC in conjunction with van der Westhuizen will be offering customised, practically oriented courses on a variety of Symantec offerings, including NetBackup, Backup Exec, Symantec Endpoint Protection and the NetBackup Appliance. This training will not only enable resellers to offer enhanced customer service, it will also help to facilitate Symantec specialisations, helping resellers to move up the Symantec Partner Tiers and benefit from improved competitive advantage, maximised opportunities and accelerated marketing, sales, and service cycles to reduce time-to-profit. DCC’s training will be competitively priced to ensure maximum accessibility and value.
