New Veeam Management Pack v7 for System Center adds Microsoft Hyper-V support

Veeam Software, innovative provider of solutions that deliver Availability for the Modern Data Center, announced that Veeam Management Pack (MP) v7 for System Center will add support for Microsoft Hyper-V. In a single product, this Veeam MP release integrates fully with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager, providing app-to-metal visibility, for both Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware vSphere layers. This release also enhances visibility for the Veeam Backup & Replication infrastructure that protects a business’ critical Hyper-V and VMware environment.

“We’re adding Hyper-V support in this major new release of the Veeam Management Pack so enterprise IT has complete visibility of their critical virtual systems, can mitigate risks, and proactively monitor Hyper-V and vSphere, from Microsoft System Center’s single console,” said Ratmir Timashev, CEO of Veeam.

Veeam MP automatically integrates System Center Operations Manager’s native monitoring of applications to display virtual infrastructure dependencies. Drill-down capabilities from app-to-metal within compute, storage and network topology maps give IT departments the tools they need to quickly react to problems that could affect business flow and user productivity.

“A business’ ability to clearly see and understand its virtual environment is critical for making informed business decisions that drive uptime, planning and growth,” said Cameron Fuller, a principal consultant for Catapult Systems, a Veeam ProPartner. “System administrators need the deep insights that Veeam Management Pack provides for both Hyper-V and vSphere environments.”

Those interested in getting an early look at monitoring and reporting for Hyper-V environments with Veeam Management Pack v7 for System Center can register for the public beta at http://go.veeam.com/mp-v7.

General availability for Veeam Management Pack v7 for System Center is planned for July 2014.

Veeam will offer first-look demos of their Hyper-V support at Microsoft TechEd North America booth No. 1301, May 12 – 15, 2014 in Houston, TX.
