Catch Xerox’s digital printing power on show at Africa Print Expo Polokwane

A range of industry-leading Xerox digital presses will be on display at the Africa Print Regional Expo, taking place today at Meropa Casino in Polokwane.

Bytes Document Solutions, the authorised Xerox distributor in 26 sub-Saharan countries and a platinum sponsor of the event, will showcase several machines, as well as workflow solutions and business development resources that drive successful digital colour print operations.

“The Xerox exhibit at this commercial and digital print exhibition will focus on providing the digital printing industry with technology and services to take their businesses to the next level of profitability,” says Paul Haglich, marketing manager for production systems at Bytes Document Solutions. “The printing industry has been revolutionised by digital technology. No longer are business owners and consumers at the mercy of print shops to create their short-run marketing brochures, event programs and invitations as these types of printed items can now be all printed in full-colour digital format without the expensive print plate making charge. Digital provides excellent business opportunities for entrepreneurs and we’re encouraging people to come and view the many digital solutions on offer, whether they are interested in growing an existing print business, or even starting a new one.”

Visitors will have the opportunity to see the entire digital print process and it will feature a wide range of printing solutions – from sheet fed A3 machines up to grand format digital equipment.

Bytes Documents Solutions will have the following presses on display:

  • The Xerox Wide Format IJP 2000, which meets the demand for quick turnaround of high-quality wide format applications of all kinds. The increased speed of the IJP 2000 means printers can accept and produce more wide-format jobs, even last minute requests. For example, it can print an A0 page in full colour with a resolution of 1600 x 1600dpi in just seven seconds, giving customers a huge competitive advantage.
  • The Xerox J75 Colour Press, which makes it easier to capture more lucrative jobs, ranging from photo books and brochures to direct-mail pieces and catalogues. For commercial print shops producing high-volume, high-value applications, the Xerox Colour J75 offers additional productivity, running all paper stocks, including heavyweight up to 300gsm, at full rated speed – 75 pages per minute.
  • The Xerox Colour 560/570 printer provides professional digital colour printing image quality, media handling and finishing for business. The printer is a high-performance, professional, light production/multifunction printer best suited for graphic arts, pay-for-print, commercial print and corporate environments.

“Digital printing is fast replacing offset printing for all purposes except those requiring very high volumes of printouts, such as books and posters that are sold commercially,” says Haglich. It offers the kind of flexibility that you can only dream of with the traditional methods of printing. Besides being flexible, digital printing also helps reduce the cost of printing, making it extremely popular with SMEs and corporates alike. The expo provides a great opportunity for print shop owners to se to see the types of innovation that are taking place in their industry.”
