Johan Scheepers promoted to Commvault Systems Engineering Director for MESAT

Johan Scheepers, SE Director MESAT for CommVault in South Africa

Commvault, a global leader in enterprise data protection and information management, has enhanced its focus on emerging markets with the promotion of Johan Scheepers to the position of Systems Engineering Director for the Middle East, South Africa and Turkey (MESAT).

Johan Scheepers will be tasked with managing the Pre-Sales teams across the Middle East, South Africa and Turkey.  He will also assist with Enterprise deals in the region, providing technical his technical expertise with regards to design and configuration.

“This appointment recognises the significance of emerging markets to our organisation and our commitment to providing the highest possible levels of service to customers in these countries. With more than 10 years of experience at Commvault as well as a wealth of experience in sales, pre-sales and the technology space, Johan was the ideal candidate for the position,” says Bassam Hemdan, Area Vice President at Commvault.

Scheepers’ primary effort will be on developing Enterprise skills and expertise within the MESAT teams which will ultimately benefit Commvault’s end user customer base through an enhanced customer experience. He says, “Our goal is to strengthen our focus on MESAT as a region and deliver unparalleled support with every aspect of the customer engagement.”

Johan Scheepers joined Commvault in 2006 as a technical account manager after gaining experience as a systems analyst and holding positions across the sales spectrum.  He worked at various well-known global IT organisations for over two decades including a number of storage firms.

In 2010 he was promoted to Principal Systems Engineer at Commvault in addition to his account manager role, a position he held until his most recent appointment. During his time at Commvault he has earned certifications including Commvault Technical Sales Professional and Commvault Solutions Architect. He was also recognised as the Commvault Systems Engineer of the year for Europe, Middle East and Africa in 2013.
