Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) South Africa, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd., today announced that it will launch an in-house HDS Academy training facility for South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa, opening on 1 April 2016.
Hitachi Data Systems provides information management and Social Innovation solutions, for business and the greater social benefit. HDS incorporates the best of Hitachi IT and operational technology to deliver the insights that businesses need to flourish in the information age.

The courses on offer in the new fully-equipped training centre at HDS in Bryanston will combine leading education delivery methods, specialist instructors, and an emphasis on practical exercises. Not only will this prove a boon for regional clients, it will contribute positively to the overall maturity of data skills in the industry within the region.
Based on a needs assessment, HDS consultants can help design a structured training plan for each partner enterprise. Courses are restricted to a maximum of eight participants, to ensure individual attention and hands-on experience with the tools in the lab of the training centre – which will be overseen by experienced trainer Khaya Malinga, supported and assisted by the rest of the HDS Academy team.

- Managing Hitachi Storage with Hitachi Command Suite v8.x
- Performing Advanced Operations with Hitachi Tuning Manager v8.x
- Introducing Hitachi Storage Architecture and Key Features
- Operating and Managing Data Protection and Data Migration on the Hitachi NAS Platform
The Academy will also offer the respected Hitachi Data Systems Certified Professional Program, to validate the skills and knowledge of HDS partners, customers and staff.
