Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solution provider, is showcasing their convergent communication, cloud computing, professional services capabilities and carrying out a ‘live’ LTE network demonstration at their roadshow at Highveld Park in Centurion.

Huawei Regional Marking Director, Mr. Jim Zhang said: “The rapid development of mobile technologies has accelerated mobile broadband from megabit to gigabit levels. Mobile broadband has redefined the way we communicate and live. With new and innovative business models emerging, mobile broadband presents the telecom industry with significant challenges and opportunities. The theme of the Roadshow is Convergent Communication and we will present our products and solutions which we believe will help Operators meet these challenges and gain opportunities going forward”.

During this five-day roadshow, Huawei will also exhibit its unique omnipresent connectivity technology, including Smart Fixed-Mobile Convergence (FMC) bearer network and the SIngleFAN solutions. Mobile Broadband continues to grow in the emerging markets; Huawei has developed the value growth solution that will see local operators benefiting significantly from Mobile Broadband (MBB) and its offerings. Huawei convergent communications solutions include value added services (VAS) such as triple play (which comprises of voice, video and data) IPTV, Unified and Social Communication solutions applicable to various social media applications. Visitors will have the opportunity to test their latest LTE compatible devices such as Wi-Fi routers, CPEs, smartphones and tablets.

Building mobile broadband networks at gigabit level is the only way to improve user experience. Broadband traffic rises by nearly 100% per year and network costs increase proportionately while revenue lags behind. Operators need new strategies, flexible intelligent policy control over their network users and content which can reduce network costs significantly by using the FUP, video optimization, and suppression of low value traffic. Revenues can also be increased by using differentiated data plans, monetizing OTT applications and precise marketing.
