Allied Technologies Limited (Altech) and Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, today announced the creation of a new business entity to drive future growth initiatives in the enterprise market. The new entity will be branded as Altech Collab and will reside within Altech’s New Business Development division.
Altech recently signed a long-term Value Added Partner (VAP) agreement with Huawei.
Under the agreement, Altech provides Huawei Enterprise products and services to customers and offers post-sales professional services and support. The agreement covers a number of countries including South Africa, Angola, Botswana, DR Congo, Kenya, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
As a result of the VAP agreement with Huawei and Altech’s future growth plans, it was recognised that there was a need to create a business entity dedicated exclusively to the provision and on-going support of efficient information technology solutions and services to its enterprise customers.
The Altech Collab name originates from the word collaboration in that the new business entity is not only a collaboration between Altech and its partners in the enterprise market, but also speaks to the coming together of technologies and ideas to create solutions. This is further demonstrated in the company’s slogan: Sharing ideas. Creating solutions.
“This new business entity reflects our commitment to both Huawei and our enterprise customers in that we have created a unit that is dedicated to providing Huawei Enterprise products to our customers, while at the same time ensuring that our customers receive world-class support and service from a dedicated team of professionals,” said Tim Ellis, Altech Group Executive: Business Development.
“We recognise that customers want better value and more flexibility from the information technology industry and Altech Collab addresses those demands in that we will provide our customers with the best possible solutions for their information technology infrastructure requirements,” he added.
Commenting on Altech Collab, Eman Liu, president of Huawei Enterprise Business Group in the Eastern and Southern Africa region, said: “This new business entity within Altech is another example of a win-win channel strategy that aims to provide a comprehensive product portfolio and business growth for our partners, as well as quality products and excellent services for our customers.”
“Together with Altech, Huawei Enterprise is committed to serving as the most innovative and optimal ICT technology partner for enterprises in Africa. We are proud to have Altech’s team of dedicated professionals to provide end-to-end managed services and technology solutions that address the unique challenges faced by their customers and partners across the public and private sectors,” said Eman Liu.
