Huawei creative director J Something

Johannesburg is the latest stop in a worldwide tour that has included stops in Bangkok, Singapore, New York and London, with newly appointed GM of Huawei Consumer Business Group SA, Charlene Munilall unveiling a smartphone that flawlessly balances artistry and creativity, the Huawei P8.

Charlene had one more surprise for the South African guests. J’Something, lead man of Mi Casa was appointed as the Creative Director of Huawei Africa #IAmBrave campaign. J’Something will ensure the creative for the next six months will be inspiring, informative and entertaining. The #IAmBrave campaign aligns with the brand ideals of Huawei and the creative lifestyle represented by J’Something through his work, media and social media.

The #IAmBrave campaign conceptualised by J’Something and the Huawei Africa team will showcase a drive in excellence and one of a kind innovations. Exciting creative content, activations and events are planned for the upcoming months.

Huawei believes in making investment in human capital and was inspired by J’Somethings personal journey to success. “I Am humbled and honoured by the opportunity to be creative for a globally recognised and progressive brand such as Huawei. We have worked really hard to get to this point and we are so thrilled to share the experience with Huawei and J’Something fans. Trust me, you don’t want to miss out on what we have in store for South Africa and Africa” – J’Something

“The decision to take on a brand ambassador was considered, but understanding that both Huawei and J’Something are creative and forward thinking brands, an ambassadorship simply wasn’t enough. We decided on a campaign strategy that would change the game as we know it, in South Africa, Africa and the World. The P8 embodies classic yet inspiring design, class-leading technology and ease of use that is bound to amaze and inspire its users. That was the aim of the #IAmBrave campaign – to inspire and stimulate. The Huawei P8 is undoubtedly the smartphone of choice for the fashion-conscious, visually stimulated modern user – which is the identity J’Something represents.” Charlene Munilall

The P8 will be available in South African stores and through all network operators from the second week of July.
