“LG teams up with up and coming designers”

LG Electronics (LG) launched their LG G Flex smartphone at the beginning of May in South Africa. It is the embodiment of innovation, design and elegance; and you will be sure to attract interest and be the center of conversation wherever you go. The G Flex is not only the latest technology all wrapped up in one device, but is also a stylish accessory. With this in mind, LG partnered with WAKE, up and coming fashion designers, to showcase the G Flex’s unique design and innovation.

The G Flex is the world’s first smartphone designed to follow the curve of the human face, measures six inches diagonally, and the Plastic OLED (P-OLED) display is the world’s largest developed and manufactured specifically for a smartphone. This makes for great viewing of video as well as pictures. It also utilizes the world’s first curved battery and is the first phone to feature a self-healing coating on the back cover, making it immune to minor scratches and nicks.

LG collaborated with WAKE for a fashion shoot where the designs of both the clothes and the G Flex were showcased. “The clothing and fabric we put on our backs have a much deeper meaning and comments on what we are feeling. The brand is for the individual who enjoys and embraces diversity”, said Pieter Burger, head designer and founder of WAKE clothing. The brand is a perfect fit for G Flex and LG as a whole as their Smartphones are for those who embrace individuality.

“LG supports and believes in investing and uplifting local talent. We wanted to partner with a designer who would complement the G Flex and WAKE does this effortlessly”, said Thomas van der Linde, General Manager LG Electronics.

The partnership delivered exquisite photographs that exhibit the best of the G Flex as well as WAKE’s designs.
