The motion sensor makes it easy

LG Electronics (LGESA) constantly strives to provide consumers with the best technology at their fingertips. The LG G3 is no exception and lives up to LG’s product development philosophy, Learning from You. LG listened to consumers and Simple is the new Smart became the G3’s philosophy.

A great camera is becoming more and more important when consumers are considering which smartphones to purchase. Not only is a good quality rear camera imperative but the front camera is fast becoming just as significant. LG’s research found that consumers aren’t happy with the quality and the resolution that front cameras are producing. LG decided to revamp the front camera to ensure that the front camera on the G3 is superior for selfies. The front camera of the G3 sports 2.1 MP, which is far better than the front cameras available in smartphones currently.

“We added a new twist to the traditional selfie mode by incorporating gesture controls. These make selfies easier and more fun,” said Deon Prinsloo, General Manager for LG Mobile. “By simply clenching your fist and holding it in front of the screen, the 3-second timer will be activated, and you have time to get into the perfect position for that flawless selfie,” he continues.

The gesture control was incorporated after realising that when women take selfies their arms are often slightly shorter than men’s and thus has difficulty in keeping the camera steady until the camera button is pushed. This results in blurry pictures. The gesture control was the best answer to this problem as it allows the user to take a selfie without having to touch the screen.

“The G3 smartphone will delight our customers as it brings innovation to market which will make consumers smile and truly serve as a window into the lives, the selfie functionality speaks to a whole new way of looking at innovation which is all possible with LG,” concludes Thomas van der Linde: GM Marketing, LG Electronics.

LG has exceeded expectations yet again by making the front camera on the G3 smarter and simpler.
