Leading consumer electronics company, LG is celebrating its flagship Brand Store’s third birthday in Cape Town’s Canal Walk shopping centre on 1 December 2014. When the Western Cape store was launched under the ownership of Alida Theron in 2011, LG’s aim was to establish a chain of exclusive customer-focused brand shops across the country with the Western Cape store as the first to open its doors in South Africa.

The following year, LG opened its second Brand Store in Willowbridge, Cape Town. This was followed in 2013 with the brand new LG Service Centre in Montagu Gardens, showing that LG even greater commitment to its Western Cape customers.

“It has been an exciting time for the company as launching the Brand Stores was a great step in showing our commitment to offering customers the best shopping experience for their home appliance needs,” says Thomas van der Linde, General Manager: Marketing. “Soon after our Canal Walk flagship store, we opened the doors to Brand Stores in Botswana, Mauritius, and Mozambique. Since then, we’ve opened stores across the rest of South Africa as well.”

Part of what has seen the Brand Stores become such a success is the inclusion of a servicing department. At Canal Walk, LG customers can have their products booked in for services and repairs if the issue cannot be addressed immediately in-store.

Alida Theron, one of South Africa’s iconic entrepreneurs and successful businesswomen, says “The store continues to offer the ultimate LG experience and we’re looking forward to celebrating our third birthday with our customers. There will be festive specials in store and customers are invited to experience and interact with all the latest product innovations first hand.”

LG’s Canal Walk Brand Store showcases products spread across the entire spectrum of LG’s product ranges – from Smartphones, notebooks and TVs, to washing machines and fridges. LG’s latest release, the ultra-sharp 105-inch CURVED ULTRA HD TV will arrive in-store this month as well.

“Having been the first LG Brand Shop to open in Africa, life is still good with LG three years later,” laughs Theron. She is proud to be part of the LG brand promise to offer a lifestyle that is easier and hassle-free. “We’re making sure that we stand for world-class service standards with our trained LG experts, who are also always on hand to assist customers with any LG related products and services.”

Van der Linde adds, “Looking back on the past three years feels good. LG has become a household favourite brand and we are proud of how important our customers are to us. With the growing success of each of our Brand Stores, we’re already looking at opportunities to expand next year with more LG Brand Stores in the Western Cape.”
