Apr 9th, 2015

Master Data Management (MDM) is pleased to announce the launch of its new Big Data Fundamentals course through their data management education partner, Courses are offered online and is in the Business Intelligence curriculum, contributing towards a Certified Information Management Professional accreditation in Business Intelligence (BI)

“Big data has moved well beyond the early ‘Silicon Valley’ tech and new media companies that helped to launch the industry. Retailers, telecommunications operators, financial institutions and government have adopted big data to enhance their customer experience, improve profitability, reduce fraud, optimise infrastructure and enhance the data warehouse.
Therefore, big data adoption is accelerating, but success is not guaranteed,” says Gary Allemann, MD of MDM.

The eLearningCurve general session covers the “need to know” essentials for anyone thinking about bringing big data into the enterprise data landscape. Experienced enterprise information practitioners, William McKnight and Jake Dolezal, use their actual project experience to educate you on the path that big data is on, the obstacles that you may face along the way, and how to confidently join the big data revolution.

The Big Data Fundamentals course teaches you about the players in the big data technology landscape and the ideal workloads for big data in the enterprise. Furthermore, they allow you to understand where big data adds value to your existing enterprise information strategy and how to get the projects started and into production.

The course is completed online for approximately 3.5-hours and addresses the technical community as well as the user community, providing guidance on how to penetrate and benefit the enterprise. This practical session will help you make the most of big data and make the best choices to ensure information remains an unparalleled corporate asset.
