Silwood Technology announces support for SAP BW/4HANA metadata discovery with Safyr 7.6, contributing to faster value from data catalog and data transformation projects

Master Data Management partner, Silwood Technology, has announced the release and immediate availability of Safyr 7.6 with support for SAP BW/4HANA. This version continues to deliver on Silwood Technology’s strategy to support customers who need to use SAP’s BW product family to derive rapid value from their data and analytics transformation initiatives.

Safyr 7.6 enables customers and partners to rapidly provision their data catalogue, data governance and other data transformation platforms with accurate business-friendly metadata from SAP BW/4HANA. This adds SAP BW/4HANA to the list of other SAP, Oracle, Microsoft and Salesforce applications supported by Safyr for metadata discovery, visualisation and curation.

Using Safyr 7.6 with SAP BW/4HANA reduces the time and cost of provisioning data catalogue or data governance projects with metadata from SAP BW/4HANA. It also helps to facilitate the migration of data for use in new data warehouse and analytics environments. It enables these use cases by providing easy and comprehensive insight into the complex data structures which underpin SAP BW/4HANA.

In technical terms, Safyr 7.6 introduces enhanced support for SAP customers implementing their next-generation data warehouse built on the SAP HANA in-memory platform. In particular, the product now extracts and makes available metadata about Advanced DataStore Objects (ADSO’s) and HANA Composite Providers.

Silwood Technology has also introduced additional facilities to save time and increase flexibility by allowing customers to automate their Safyr process. This means that customers can use commonly available tools to schedule the extraction of metadata from source applications, populate subsets and then provision the metadata in other tools.
