Silwood Technology Launches Safyr 8.1, Enhancing SAP S/4HANA Metadata

Master Data Management partner, Silwood Technology Limited has announced the immediate release of Safyr Version 8.1, a significant upgrade to its leading ERP metadata discovery product. 

This latest version dramatically expands the categories of metadata harvested from SAP S/4HANA, offering substantial benefits to South African businesses undergoing SAP migrations and digital transformation initiatives.

These enhancements empower South African customers to leverage the increased coverage of SAP S/4HANA metadata, driving greater value from their data intelligence, data catalog, data lineage, analytics, and governance projects.

Safyr 8.1 introduces several key capabilities for SAP S/4HANA systems, including:

  • Enhanced IDoc and Internal Table Metadata Harvesting: Safyr now supports the extraction of metadata related to SAP IDocs (Intermediate Documents), the standard for data exchange between SAP systems, and SAP Internal Tables.
  • HANA Calculation View Lineage: The software facilitates the extraction of HANA Calculation Views from SAP S/4HANA, along with their lineage to other HANA Calculation Views and Tables, providing critical insights into data flow.
  • Improved Differentiation of ABAP and CDS Views: Safyr now offers simplified differentiation between ‘Classic’ ABAP views and CDS Views, streamlining metadata analysis.

These capabilities, traditionally reserved for SAP technical specialists, are now accessible to data teams, enabling agile, timely, and cost-effective project delivery.

This democratization of metadata access is especially relevant in South Africa, where skills shortages can impede digital transformation projects.
