Coarse Wavelength-Division Multiplexing (CWDM) technology offers a solution that will dramatically increase the capacity of existing fibre infrastructure by enabling multiple channels or wavelengths over the same fibre cabling, which reduces costs for new fibre optic deployments.

Available from MiRO, this technology means combining a number of wavelengths onto the same fibre simultaneously. A MikroTik CWDM system uses a multiplexer at the transmitter to join several signals together. At the same time, it uses a demultiplexer at the receiver to split them apart. This allows you to combine up to eight fibre links into one, to simplify and reduce the cost of long-distance fibre installations.

MikroTik CWDM in your network means increasing the efficiency of an existing fibre network, scalable and easy-to-deploy fibre channel services, reduced electricity consumption and reduced equipment maintenance and installation costs.

The MikroTik CWDM-MUX8A is a passive MUX/DEMUX unit which is a unit that allows you to use a single optical fibre cable to create up to eight independent 1.25Gbps SFP for distances of up to 40 kilometers or 10Gbps SFP+ for links up to 10 kilometers, which means a more affordable alternative to installing more fibre or leasing additional fibres. You can even use 1.25Gbps modules and 10Gbps modules at the same time.

You then have the choice of the following connector options for your network:

• MikroTik SFP CWDM module 1.25G SM 40 kilometer 1470nm LC-connector DDM

• MikroTik SFP+ CWDM module 10G SM 10 kilometer 1490nm LC-connector DDM

• MikroTik SFP+ CWDM module 10G SM 10 kilometer 1510nm LC-connector DDM

• MikroTik SFP CWDM module 1.25G SM 40 kilometer 1530nm LC-connector DDM

• MikroTik SFP+ CWDM module 10G SM 10 kilometer 1550nm LC-connector DDM

• MikroTik SFP CWDM module 1.25G SM 40 kilometer 1570nm LC-connector DDM

• MikroTik SFP CWDM module 1.25G SM 40 kilometer 1590nm LC-connector DDM
