LITTLE EDEN Society with support from Classic FM is calling upon all CEOs and company executives to support people with disability by participating in a fun Wheelchair Obstacle Race which will take place on Saturday 25 March 2017 at Holy Rosary School in Edenvale.
This fundraising campaign aims to raise awareness of the special needs of people with disabilities and to financially assist LITTLE EDEN Society which cares for 300 children and adults with profound intellectual disability.
To enter, each company would contribute R50 000 to LITTLE EDEN and purchase a wheelchair to use during the obstacle race. At the end of the campaign, all wheelchairs used during the race will be handed over to LITTLE EDEN who will then pass them forward to underprivileged children and adults in the local townships.
We hope for a minimum of 50 CEOs to take part in this special campaign. Classic FM will be discussing the entrants and supporting the campaign live on their business show.
Together we can make a huge difference for people with disabilities. Take advantage of this opportunity to have fun with staff, family or friends (you will need help with steps, etc). And don’t forget to challenge other companies to take part in the race too!
LITTLE EDEN Society is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and all proceeds raised through the CEO wheelchair obstacle campaign will go towards the cost of caring for the special people with profound intellectual disability at the Society.
Currently, it costs LITTLE EDEN R11 000 monthly to care for each resident. The majority of the residents at the centre have been abandoned, and have no families to contribute towards the cost of their care.
