Huawei will supply its latest Huawei Mate 10 Pro and Huawei Mate 10 Porsche Design to Standard Bank customers in a new partnership between the two brands.
At the strategy partnership signing ceremony, Huawei announced that it will be offering its devices interest-free to Standard Bank customers as part of the uCount Rewards and its VIP financial offerings.
“This cooperation is very important because we have a similar vision and strategy as Standard Bank and we both have strong brands in South Africa,” said Huawei.
The Mate 10 range will open the door to new AI applications for mobile, and the new Kirin 970 processor that powers the Mate 10 has the first neural network processing unit designed for a mobile device.
The chip also includes a dual-image signal processor which offers AI-powered photography.
Its neural network processing unit, combined with its HiAI mobile computing platform, allows the Kirin 970 to deliver up to 25-times better performance and 50-times greater energy efficiency for AI-related tasks when compared to four Cortex-A73 cores.
The Huawei Mate 10 Pro and Mate 10 Porsche Design both feature a dual rear camera system, with 12MP colour and 20MP monochrome units.
“We are proud to be partnering with Huawei and growing together across the continent, and we look forward to deepening our relationship going forward,” added Standard Bank.
“We have a vision of becoming a digital bank, and we believe that Huawei can help us on our journey to offer our clients the very best.”
