At Momentum, OTEL Telecoms today announced significant progress and traction with its VoIP Academy where the second course just took place.

Launched in June 2012, the VoIP Academy hosted by SETA Accredited Compulink and led by SA’s VoIP Guru Paul Colmer, was established to meet the demand of a formal VoIP qualification course. Predominantly a ‘self-taught’ industry, the technology has grown by leaps and bounds to necessitate such a facility.

“The past training course has come to a close and we move forward to the next one! Overall it went very well and all feedback has been positive.” Comments Specialist Tainer, Paul Colmer

The newly qualified VoIP professionals were very excited upon receiving their certificates.

“Enjoyed every bit and learnt a lot. Paul has a special skill for explaining technology and a great knowledge of all the technology. I loved it “! ~ Wynand van Rensburg of Nology Solutions

“Done with excellence and dedicated training skill. Well worth it and the money spend. Training was done with passion and understanding. The VoIP course was well presented. Will be recommended to anyone interested in VoIP.” ~Alan Strydom of Alco Communications

Donald Oloo of Durban Based Basizi Data Solutions thought the trip was well worthwhile
“The course was well presented and would recommend it to others”

ABC Cellular’s Zubair Ebrahim endured the Ramadhan fast to take his primarily cellular business into Unified Communications
‘Very informative and very helpful presenter overall. I am happy with the course content and the practical applications thereafter’

Colmer is excited for the upcoming months. He has been involved in the shooting of a TV Documentary by SABC regarding the latest in telecom technology. OTEL’s VoIP Academy will be featured in the programme.

“August and September will be busier than last months” adds Colmer “ We’re preparing for a course session in Cape Town due to popular demand”

OTEL’s VoIP Academy has attracted students from unexpected sources. Incumbent Telecom Operators, Government Institutions and JSE Listed company employees’ course fees have been paid by their employers in order to benefit by integrating advanced telecommunications within the organization.

“Students don’t leave empty handed. The vast amount of knowledge they leave with after an exam is backed by a certificate, Software for ‘Asterisk PBXinaFlash’  3CX including NFR  licence, which enables full functionality and G729 and a variety of other free soft switches to play with, SnomOne, BizPBX and a variety of softhones. All of which they can practice their new found VoIP Skills on.” Concludes a visibly passionate Colmer.

The next sessions are booked for the 27th August and 17th September in Johannesburg. 3rd September in Cape Town. Bookings can be made online at www.otelafrica.com where a prospectus and courseware can also be found to motivate attendee’s company sponsorship.
