Westcon Southern Africa has been awarded Microsoft’s Top MEA Distributor in Reach Growth for Hosting at the recent Microsoft MEA SPLAR Awards 2014 hosted in Istanbul, Turkey.

The award recognises the efforts made by the local team’s Software Solutions division, which has managed to consistently grow the hosting side of its Microsoft business, achieving a staggering 98% growth over the last year. Matt Haynes, World Wide Strategic Programs Director for Hosting at Microsoft and Karim Kalaawi MEA Hosting Director at Microsoft, presented the award to the local team.

“We are delighted to be bringing this award home to a well deserved local SPLA team who consistently pour everything into growing the hosted software side of our Microsoft business,” states Leane Hannigan, Software Solutions Director at Westcon Southern Africa.

“This award also provides us as Westcon evidence that our strategy and vision to become a value-added distributor that is able to provide our partners with services, support and product in the cloud, is a qualified one.”

As an official distributor of Microsoft’s Services Provider Licence Agreement (SPLA) solutions, Westcon’s customers have access to the vendor’s Web hosting, hosted applications, messaging, collaboration and platform infrastructure offerings. What’s more is that they are able to offer these as a customised service with a flexible cost structure, that has no startup costs.

Key to the company’s success is that it provides its partners access to a host of value-added services, pre and post sales skills, as well as technical support expertise. This includes access to its customer service desk, help desk and support personnel, dependant on a partner’s SLA with the company. All of this is done under a reseller’s own organisational banner and brand, providing end-user customers with a single point of contact at all times.
