XDSL, a next-generation Internet Service Provider (ISP), has appointed Marius Olivier as its ‘Head of Commercial Business’, providing a dedicated resource who is responsible for the commercial function, products and positioning thereof in the South African market. Olivier will develop and manage supplier relationships and further establish the XDSL brand in the enterprise space.

Olivier brings nearly three decades of experience at Telkom to XDSL where he gained much knowledge with the development and lifecycle management of many wholesale products.  It is this experience and more that will deliver the critical value to XDSL, assisting them to secure new opportunities in the enterprise space and deliver additional value to existing clients.

Says Olivier, “The move to XDSL has provided me with an exciting opportunity to work with an innovative, dynamic organisation that is just as passionate about Information Communication Technology (ICT) as I am.  This is illustrated in a number of XDSL’s ‘first to market products’ and services along with their goal to deliver better, higher speed connectivity at the lowest price. XDSL has already pushed the boundaries with its Mega LAN, Mega Internet and Mega Co-location offerings that are taking ISP expectations to new heights.”

Olivier’s position requires quick, calculated decisions, agility to respond to market needs and providing customised solutions that are aligned with customer needs and requirements, something that appealed to him and provided him with a new challenge. His many years’ experience in the telco industry will also assist him with the responsibility of maintaining and managing supplier relationships.

“My goal is to ensure XDSL continues to deliver and improve their service experience and drive new opportunities and growth in the enterprise market. It is also important to understand and anticipate market influences and customer requirements, and deliver solutions that ensure we stand out from the rest of the market.”

Olivier was involved in a number of areas within Telkom including finance, technical demand forecast, commercial business, wholesale business as well as marketing and sales, providing him with wide exposure to many of the critical functions within a telco.

Concludes Danie Fourie, Commercial Director at XDSL, “The appointment of Olivier will not only drive our enterprise business and enhance our service delivery to this sector but will also add to the collective experience of our core management team at XDSL.  Our experience coupled with our innovative approach to our breakthrough offerings is what differentiates us in a highly competitive market.”
