The first round of MWC Africa 2021 online event which hosted by GSMA has been held from 28th to 30th September. The main topic of event entails “Powering a continent”, ZTE together with the telecommunication experts discussed how to promote Africa digitalization, and bridge the digital gap; where the technical experts, leaders of industry, policy makers, scholars attended the online event as well.
As the founding partner of MWC Africa events, ZTE aims to build a highly reliable cloud-network foundation for the people, to promote the digital economy, and assist in the digital transformation.
Since 1997, ZTE has been contributing to while witnessing the rapid development of the MEA (Middle East and Africa) telecom market. Till now, the company has provided equipment and services to the operators in more than 50 countries in the region, with strategic partners including leading multinational telecom groups such as Orange, MTN, Airtel, Ooredoo and Vodacom.
Mr Zhang Jianpeng, the SVP of ZTE Corporation, delivered a keynote speech “Bridging the Digital Divide, Scaling the Heights of Intelligence”in MWC Africa 2021. The keynote began with the analysis of telecommunication development trend during the COVID-19 Pandemic, and the current situation of digital divide in Africa. Then Mr. Zhang elaborated on his suggestions for the development directions with 3 C keywords, Connect, Create, Collaboration.
He highlighted that, in these 20+ years ZTE has been contributing in African market with continuous improvement of the network connection and providing the cloud platform; helped the local enterprises and APP developers to create the contents and applications which are more suitable for the African people. In the end of speech, he noted that, ZTE is committed to being a driver of the digital economy and will continue collaborating with more partners to enhance the contribution in Africa digital transformation.
