HTC Magic utilises Android

The HTC Magic is an accomplished handset, it offers a veritable feast of functionality encased within an exceedingly stylish and comfortable to use casing. The handset offers touch screen technology coupled with internet access, intertwined with a CPU and android operating system.

It is a compact handset measuring 113 mm x 55 mm wide and is only 13 mm thick. In addition, the unit weighs 118 g, which makes it a lightweight unit to carry around.

An impressively colourful 3.2 inch TFT touch screen is the central focal point of the phone. Its ability to display up to 65,000 colours ensures that images displayed are colourful and vibrant in nature, within the confines of the 320 x 480 pixel screen size.

For navigation purposes, a trackball is also included, which aids and abets the user when accessing functionality contained therein.

An accelerometer sensor is provided which automatically rotates imagery, dependent upon the aspect of the image and the orientation of the display screen.

The unit comes with a multitude of connection options which include class 10 versions of GPRS and EDGE, as well as a microSD card slot and both blue tooth and mini USB.

The Bluetooth connection is for headset support only. Internet access is provided by both the HSDPA and Wi Fi connections, at speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps, with the added bonus of being able to utilise nationally available hotspots. The handset comes with GPS functionality, offering satellite navigation as standard.

Entertainment comes in a variety of guises and includes a 3.15 mega pixel camera, which comes with auto focus to aid image taking. QVGA quality video capture is also provided at 15 frames per second and offers a viable alternative to still imagery.

The handset comes with 288 MB of memory with the option to utilise SD cards to increase memory capacity. An MP3/MP4 player is also included within the package, and provides audio and video file capabilities that support most file formats. To complete the ensemble of entertainment a variety of games are also included.

The HTC Magic Black is one of the colour variants available, with white being the other. The handset utilises the Qualcomm MSM 7200A 520 MHz processor, with the aforementioned android operating system. The unit comes with a digital compass and voice memo capability as well as a speakerphone.

This handset is an established handset, which is now available in a variant of the original colour. Its popularity has increased due to its impressive levels of functionality and also its excellent capabilities.
