XDSL was founded in 2002 and has been involved in the ISP industry since broadband became available in South Africa. Over the last 12 years we have built a national network that competes with the best in the industry.

National Footprint

Our backbone extends across the country, providing flexible end-to-end solutions in National MPLS VPN, Fibre Optic Solutions and Hosting nationwide.

We have major capacity on the WACS, SAT 3 and Seacom cables with a Point of Presence (POP) in nine data centres, two of which are owned by us. We have built multiple failovers on our network to ensure our customers stay connected 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Our SLAs are accessible to first line helpdesk staff, ensuring they can be understood and implemented easily for optimal service, minimal downtime and maximum customer satisfaction.

We have broken our service level in two categories:

  • Service guarantees – this focuses on the normal service guarantees such as uptime, response time and mean time to repair.
  • Service experience – this focuses on the total experience, including communication and time spent to get to a decision-maker.

XDSL has a national footprint on all major fibre networks across the country. Our founding members have gained exceptional experience through involvement in major international projects, giving us the edge over our competitors.

We make use of a shared IP network, reaching across metro networks, carrier networks, ISPs and data-hosting centres, using multiple access technologies in partnership with a number of service providers with whom we have peering agreements and back-to-back SLAs. This includes all the major ISPs, fixed and cellular service providers, as well as niche ISPs providing fibre to select clients. In all, XDSL now has access to more than 200 000km of fibre through its agreements with various carriers, with dedicated links to all major fibre rings. This provide XDSL with access to more than 25% of the total available fibre optic network in South Africa.

Leveraging these partnerships and open access networks, we can now tap into the infrastructure of multiple carrier providers nationally and internationally. This enables us to deliver greater value, enhanced choice of services and superior Quality of Service (QoS). Our goal is to continually achieve a lower total cost of communication for our customers, while delivering greater flexibility and control with higher levels of service.
